This year, Music Program Director Drew Cohen has planned a year of exciting opportunities for Weber musicians! In addition to two music program performances at The Weber School (one each semester), Mr. Cohen is bringing in professional guest musicians to work and perform with students. Students will also perform at local venues, including:
Acoustic Shabbat: Join Mr. Cohen, Rabbi Glusman from the MJCCA, and Weber student musicians for chill evenings of soulful Shabbat tunes once a month beginning this Friday, August 23, 7:00 pm, at Alon's Bakery and Market (Dunwoody). People of all faiths and backgrounds will enjoy this engaging live acoustic evening of blessings and song as we draw closer together in celebration of Shabbat. Upcoming monthly dates and locations will be publicized in What's Up Weber.
Teen Open Mic Nights: These popular evening get-togethers showcase teens from Weber and the entire Jewish community. Three teen open mic nights are planned this school year for November, March and April. Stay tuned for more information!
Spring Food Truck Event: A fantastic end-of-year party at Brook Run Park featuring teen musicians from Weber and other day schools, Kosher food vendors, games, activities, and more! Another great way for teens to celebrate and connect with their Jewish community.
