What's Up Weber!
In addition to standard class-related field trips throughout the year, Weber students have the unique opportunity to participate in grade level overnight trips. These trips provide opportunities for focused group cooperation, community building, and academics while simultaneously exposing the students to a variety of cultural and historical sites.
In preparation for her new elective, Love, LIfe and Yiddish Children's Stories: The Psychology of Children's Books, Hebrew teacher Linda Parmet spent a month of her summer at The Yiddish Book Center in Amherst, MA. She participated in the Great Jewish Books Teacher Summer Seminar, a program for teachers at Jewish middle and high schools interested in enriching their curricula with materials that reflect the breadth and depth of modern Jewish literature.
As we shared with our community last week, thanks to a generous grant from The Zalik Foundation Fund, and the visionary support on the part of its principals, David and Helen Zalik, The Weber School will establish the Daniel Zalik Academy housed in an MIT-inspired Fab Lab. Focusing on the disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering and Design, The Zalik Academy will serve students at The Weber School as well as Jewish students across Atlanta.
