Seniors will gather in the cafeteria at 8:30 in preparation for rehearsal. There will be time to change into caps and gowns before the ceremony, so it is not necessary to wear them for the rehearsal. Donuts and gluten-free light snacks will be provided. Seniors will park in the student parking lot.
Gates open for arrival beginning at 9:15 AM. We request that all families are seated by 10:15 to ensure an on-time start to the ceremony. Families that have requested seating accommodations should arrive closer to 9:15.
Although a majority of guests attending the Weber graduation will be fully vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine, we realize that some individuals in attendance will not yet be fully vaccinated. Therefore, Weber has established the following health protocols for the ceremony in accordance with the latest guidance from The Fulton County Board of Public Health (FCBPH):
When walking to and from one’s assigned seat before, during, and after the ceremony, including the time walking to and from one’s parked car, all graduates and guests must wear a mask.
All graduates and family groups will be assigned seating that maintains at least six feet of social distance. Combined with the fact that our graduation will be held outdoors, this seating design will provide graduates, their families, and Weber faculty and staff with the option to remove their masks while seated.
When called to receive their diplomas, graduates will wear masks while waking to the stage. Once they are called onto the stage, graduates may remove their mask to cross the stage, receive their diploma and stand for a photograph. As Weber has engaged professionals to photograph each graduate with their diploma, family members should not leave their seats to take pictures.
We understand that Weber graduates may need to drive themselves to school separately for the morning rehearsal. However, to maximize parking capacity on the Weber campus, we ask that the remaining family members drive to Weber in one car if possible. Parking attendants will be on-site directing cars to open spots. Once the Weber lots are full, cars will be directed to overflow parking at the Publix shopping center where Weber buses will shuttle guests to campus. Passengers on these busses will be asked to maintain six (6) feet of social distance.
There will be a covered drop-off location for those family members that require assistance to their seats. Please refer to this map for specific arrival instructions. We will utilize golf carts to help transport family members to their seats. Disability Parking will be in the upper lot.
Seating is arranged in pods by families and will be arranged six feet apart. Each student and their family will receive an email containing their pod location on Wednesday, May 26th. Please refrain from moving seats from their pods.
Weber has arranged for professional photographers from Scenesations to capture this exciting event. They will photograph the students as they receive their diplomas and again as they exit the stage. Scenesations will remain onsite after the ceremony to take pictures of the graduates and their families and friends. A link will be shared after the event where families may purchase pictures. We will add that link here once it is available.
