Advanced Honors Hebrew Class Films Great Outdoors!

During a recent unit, students in Linda Parmet’s Advanced Honors Hebrew learned about filmmaking while enjoying the great outdoors. While studying the hiking films of Israeli short-form filmmakers “The Perel Brothers,” students not only learned related vocabulary, expressions, and language structure used in the film’s narration, but they also got a crash course in filming, learning about angles, lighting, changes in distance, and special effects. Students quickly synthesized all they learned and produced their own short hiking film, exploring the great outdoors in the process.“My group had a great time playing with camera angles in our video,” said senior Kinneret Weismark, “I hope I can explore the hiking trails in Israel we saw in the video someday!”
