The Director of Theatrical Education guides students through every facet of production—from designing and building sets and props in collaboration with The Daniel Zalik Academy to mastering lighting design, sound, and stage technology. This unique partnership empowers students to blend artistry with technical expertise, bringing each performance to life with creativity and innovation.
Honors Diploma Distinction
Graduates earning the Honors Theatre Distinction demonstrate mastery of their chosen art form—Performance or Technical Theatre—through two culminating portfolios:
- Performance Portfolio: A curated collection of Weber Theatrical production footage.
- Personal Portfolio: A presentation of individual work, such as a song, monologue, and dance, or an in-depth exploration of the design process.
Both portfolios include written reflections, allowing graduates to critically analyze their growth, artistry, and creative journey.
Curricular Requirements
- Musical Theatre: Onstage & Behind-the-Scenes Elective Class
Extra-Curricular Requirements
- Participate in at least one theatrical production per school year
- Maintain Thespian membership
- Attend the Georgia Thespian Conference (ThesCon)
