Students in Josh Dinerman’s Exercise and Nutrition class (part of the Stan Kasten Academy of Sports Science and Management) welcomed guest speaker Lauren Cadranel, MS, RD, LD. A registered dietitian and former elite sports nutrition specialist, Mrs. Cadranel spoke with students to deepen their understanding of how nutrition impacts performance, wellness, and long-term athletic development.

Mrs. Cadranel, founder of Nourished Well and former sports nutritionist for both Georgia State athletes and the Atlanta Falcons, brought InBody Testing equipment that allowed students to complete a full-body composition scan. In under 60 seconds, each student received detailed data on body fat percentage, muscle distribution, and hydration levels. But the real value came in what followed.

Taking time to walk through each section of the report, Mrs. Cadranel helped students connect the numbers to fundamental strategies: how to fuel appropriately for different sports, why hydration matters, and how to listen to their bodies as they train and grow. Students reflected on how their habits affect both performance and recovery.

This hands-on experience is part of the Sports Nutrition and Exercise track in the Stan Kasten Academy, which offers students passionate about fitness, performance, and wellness a deeper understanding of how to optimize their health through science-backed strategies.
