Presented by the Weber Music Program and the Michael and Andrea Leven Office of Student Service and Philanthropy, Am Yisrael Live brought students, families, and friends together for an evening of music, community, and support for Israel. Formerly known as the Concert for the Kibbutzim, the event has grown into Weber’s annual student-led benefit concert.
Held in the Tzadik Performing Arts Center, the evening featured live music from Weber’s house band, Broken Glass, along with other student musicians and a silent auction. The atmosphere was joyful, spirited, and full of purpose as the Weber community came together to support Yemin Orde Youth Village.
Located on Mt. Carmel in Israel, Yemin Orde serves youth from a wide range of backgrounds, providing a safe home, education, and emotional support to help students thrive. This year, Am Yisrael Live raised nearly $13,000, with the help of an anonymous donor matching every dollar 1:1. The campaign in support of Yemin Orde will continue through the end of the school year.
More than a concert, Am Yisrael Live was a powerful example of student leadership in action. As we approach Passover, when the youngest among us ask, “Why is this night different from all other nights?”, the answer, at least for Weber, can partly be found in Am Yisrael Live, where student leadership, vision, and commitment turned an evening of music into a meaningful show of community support for Israel.
