Kol Hakavod!

Kol Hakavod to Nuriel S. (Class of 2027)! After the postponement of the World Maccabi Games this summer, Nuriel made the most of his time in Israel by competing in the Israeli Track and Field National Championship, where he earned first place in the U18 division for javelin, officially making him the Israeli U18 National Champion. With a throw of 49.6 meters (162.7 feet), he not only topped his age group but also logged the second-best throw of the night across all divisions. Though javelin is not currently sanctioned by the GHSA, Nuriel is actively advocating to restore the event to high school competition in Georgia.

Back in the U.S., Nuriel continued his incredible run by earning seven gold medals and two silver medals in track and field events at the JCC Maccabi Games in Pittsburgh, PA. Nuriel’s achievements this summer reflect serious dedication and athletic talent, and we can’t wait to see what he accomplishes this year!
