Celebrating Diverse Traditions

As part of a special Chanukah project guided by Weber’s ceramics teacher, Pamela Cohen, advanced ceramics students designed and created unique Chanukiyot (Menorahs) that showcased their creativity and skill. Using techniques such as slab, pinch, coil, and wheel pottery, students thoughtfully incorporated themes such as holiday symbols, Israel, nature, Freedom of Expression, Freedom from Oppression, and Pride in Personal and Community Identity.

These meaningful pieces are currently featured in the Fernbank Museum’s Winter Wonderland: Celebrations & Traditions Around the World exhibit. This annual holiday display highlights trees and decorations created by local cultural partners that celebrate diverse traditions, including Chanukah and Christmas, as well as indigenous art and national symbols.
