• Academics

  Weber promotes a curiosity for learning, leadership development, and social responsibility. To keep the curriculum both challenging and engaging, our students learn in the classroom, off-campus, and around the world led by a distinguished, experienced faculty that teaches and mentors teenagers throughout the all-important high school years.
  
  In addition to numerous Advanced Placement, Honors, and College Preparatory classes, Weber offers a wide variety of unique elective courses that reflect faculty members’ content expertise and research fields.

  Weber takes a great deal of pride in its Only at Weber experiences, which include two distinguished Academies.
  
  

  THE DANIEL ZALIK ACADEMY (DZA)

  The Daniel Zalik Academy, or DZA, is Weber’s Science, Technology, Engineering, and Design Institute, housed in a professionally equipped fabrication lab (MIT-Inspired Fab Lab) on our campus. The DZA provides amazing opportunities for our students to gain mastery in human-centered design and develop expertise in scientific research, digital modeling, computer science, and robotics. Students acquire skills in areas such as digital fabrication, 3D printing, carpentry, and welding, and create product prototypes using these tools.

  THE SPORTS SCIENCE AND MANAGEMENT ACADEMY

  The Weber Sports Science and Management Academy, featuring an Honors Diploma program, is designed to educate students in fields including physical therapies, sports medicine, physical training, fitness, and sports management. This program offers exclusive opportunities for Weber students to develop advanced knowledge and skills in these disciplines which is typically only available at the college level.

• Israel and Global Education

  The Abe Besser Senior Israel-Poland Experience is a hallmark of senior year at Weber. This three-week travel education program offers extensive learning about Jewish history as well as contemporary Jewish life in both Israel and Poland. This unique experience nurtures an authentic connection for students with their Jewish identity and serves as a capstone to the four years at Weber. Weber works in partnership with Heller High School in Israel and The Taube Center for the Renewal of Jewish Life in Poland to bring this wonderful experience to life for our seniors.
  
  We also have a highly coveted Spanish Immersion Program for Spanish students in all grades. Through field studies in Atlanta and an extended stay in either Spain or Cuba, students have the opportunity to authentically engage in and fully understand the culture beyond tourist attractions. Students explore the Jewish communities and Jewish life as well as local culture including music, art, food, sports, and politics.
  
  

  The N’siyah Ashkenaz is a two-week immersive experience in Central Europe, aligning with Weber’s Junior Year Modern Jewish History curriculum. Students travel to Poland and the Czech Republic, exploring pre-Holocaust Jewish communities, the impact of World War II and the Holocaust, and the post-war rebuilding of Jewish life. This program focuses on the recent communal experiences, Cold War impacts, and contemporary Jewish issues, such as the response to recent waves of refugees.

• Outreach, Leadership, and Service

  The Weber School provides a variety of school initiatives and opportunities that promote student leadership and involvement.
  
  

  Student Service and Philanthropy

  Managed and operated by a student Governing Board at The Weber School, the Leven Office of Student Service and Philanthropy serves as a clearinghouse for Weber students to choose meaningful, high-impact community service through a philanthropic lens. This office provides Weber students, and eventually teens throughout the Atlanta Jewish community, easily accessible opportunities to choose service projects that align with their interests and skills, thereby incentivizing them to increase the time that they invest in acts of Tzedakah.
  
  

  Peace by Piece

  Under the auspices of the Faith Alliance of Metro Atlanta (FAMA), Peace by Piece at The Weber School aims to promote respect and understanding among Jewish, Christian, and Muslim high school students.
  
  

  Michael Kay Israel Leadership Fellows

  The Michael Kay Israel Leadership Fellows, a co-curricular Honors Diploma distinction program, is aimed at fostering dynamic leadership with a focus on serving Israel and the Jewish community.  As a Fellow, students will deepen their knowledge of Zionism, educating peers and adults regarding the complex challenges facing Israel today and building stronger ties between North American Jews, our broader community, and the people and land of Israel.

• Fine & Performing Arts

  Weber offers multiple courses in the visual arts, ceramics, dance, music, and theatre with two musical productions each year. Our comprehensive music education program features performance and general music courses, choral and instrumental performance ensembles, and Artists-in-Residence.
  
  

  MUSIC

  With the opening of the Tzadik Performing Arts Center, Weber expanded its Jazz, Rock, and Vocal ensembles while offering new courses in music theory and composition, electronic music, and sound engineering.  In addition, Director of Music Drew Cohen will leverage the dynamic teaching spaces within the Tzadik Performing Arts Center to offer a series of visiting performance artists, providing students with opportunities to learn from and make music with top working musicians in the Jewish and broader community. 
  
  

  PERFORMING ARTS

  Leveraging the new theatre and dynamic teaching spaces, Weber expanded its theatrical offerings by adding courses in Theatrical Direction, Short-Form Theater, and Collaborative Dramatic Performance. In November 2022, Weber offered its first-ever dramatic and musical theater production centered upon material written, directed, and performed by students. Guided by our Technical Director and Music and Sound Engineering Teacher, a growing team of Weber students master the skills of lighting, set design, and sound engineering, managing traditional and high-tech equipment in service of each performance. 
  

  FINE ARTS

  Our Fine Arts program includes two art studios – one for ceramics and one for visual arts. The ceramics studio has 14 wheels and a slab roller, accommodating the many students who select this elective. Assignments range from sculpture and tableware to Jewish ritual objects such as Passover seder plates and kiddush cups. Although most pots are fired electrically inside, Raku firings happen periodically outside — in the lower parking lot. The ceramics teacher and a Jewish Studies teacher co-teach an interdisciplinary course in Jewish Symbolism where the class studies Jewish text and then creates a visual arts piece that expresses their interpretation of the text.

• Athletics

  

  The Weber School sponsors 16 Varsity and 5 Junior Varsity teams and is a member of the Georgia High School Association. More than 70% of the student body participates in athletics.
  
  

  Weber Athletics offers a year-round strength and conditioning program -- available to all students -- that utilizes a traditional weight room in our state-of-the-art Eitan Force Athletic Complex. The EFAC offers an indoor training facility equipped with free weights, cardiovascular equipment, suspension training, an indoor batting cage, an indoor golf training area, and other tools to help increase strength, speed, agility, flexibility, and overall fitness. We also have a full-time Athletic Trainer to meet the sports medicine needs of our athletes.

• Student Life and Programming

  Student Life at Weber goes far beyond the classroom and provides real-life experiences that help develop character, judgment, and confidence.
  
  Whether partnering in a community service project, leading a school program, or participating in a student organization, Weber students have myriad opportunities to pursue their interests. Our students are engaged and excited about their community, their friends, and their school.
  
  From Jewish studies to Shabbaton, grade level trips and holiday celebrations and events, Weber dynamically embraces Judaism and Jewish culture.
