Senior Kick-off Retreat

The Class of 2026 launched their senior year with the annual Senior Kick-off Retreat, an opportunity to reconnect as a class, reflect on the year ahead, and deepen their sense of purpose and community. Guided by Director of Student Programming and Leadership Michelle Geppert, the retreat featured a balance of structured activities and unstructured time designed to foster reflection, bonding, and leadership development.

Upon arrival, students paired up for an exercise created to spark conversation and self-reflection. Each pair discussed prompts centered on leadership and personal growth, including what they still hope to accomplish at Weber and the impact they want to have as senior leaders, setting the stage for a year rooted in purpose and connection.

In the evening, Rabbi Ed Harwitz, Head of School, led a reflective activity centered on the Jewish Youth Promise (JYP), a global initiative that invites Jewish teens and young adults to commit to strengthening the Jewish people and Israel. To personalize the experience, each student wrote a letter to their future self, to be returned at graduation, capturing their reflections and aspirations as they begin senior year. The JYP initiative, founded by Atlanta philanthropist Mike Leven—whose generosity also helped establish The Michael and Andrea Leven Office of Student Service and Philanthropy at Weber—provided a meaningful backdrop for students to consider the lasting impact of their leadership, identity, and Jewish commitments.

The retreat concluded with a workshop where students revisited the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) assessments they completed during Senior Bootcamp with College Counseling. In a session led by Amy Secor, Dean of College Advising, students explored how their MBTI results could inform their academic goals, college planning, and learning styles, offering valuable insights for navigating senior year, the college process, and their future with confidence.
