Alumna Spotlight

Intending to come back to Atlanta after graduation, Brooke tapped into her local network to learn more about nursing and investigate nursing programs in town. She found the perfect fit with Emory University’s accelerated 15-month Master of Nursing program, and upon graduation from the program in December, Brooke will officially be an RN!
“I have loved nursing school,” Brooke shared. “Throughout the program, I have participated in various clinical rotations and have decided that I love pediatrics. I’m also very interested in cardiac care, and so I pursued a role at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) in that unit.”
Throughout this journey, Brooke tapped into some close-to-home resources with other Weber grads and families, including Emma Popowski (Class of 2015) and Abby Karsch (Weber parent, Emily Karsch, Class of 2014), both CHOA nurses.

Brooke will also join CHOA as a ‘Clinical Nurse One’ in the pediatric cardiac care unit starting in March. Before beginning this exciting journey, next week, Brooke will begin as a nurse extern at CHOA in a residency program that is designed for newer nurses to help orient them to the hospital system.
Brooke credits Weber for teaching her the importance of Tikkun Olam and helping others which she believes is a huge part of nursing. “I received a great education at Weber, which prepared me well for both my undergrad and my master’s degrees,” Brooke shared.
Kol Hakavod Brooke, on your exciting journey into nursing!
