Inspiring Guest Speakers

Recently, Weber Hebrew students were fortunate to hear from several inspirational guest speakers who shared their personal stories. Batia Ben Aroia, a child Holocaust survivor from Bulgaria, shared her family's journey of surviving the Holocaust and finding their way to Israel. Shai Fredo, an Ethiopian-Israeli film and theater actor, spoke to students about his personal journey to Israel as a boy and his experiences assimilating into Israeli society. And Charlotte Kurchak, a senior educator at StandWithUs, a non-partisan education organization that supports Israel and fights antisemitism, discussed the importance of being a Zionist and “wearing your Judaism on your sleeve.” Thank you to the Weber Hebrew faculty for hosting these inspiring guests and giving our students the opportunity to hear from individuals who have lived through significant historical events and have diverse perspectives to share.
