Rated PG-13 for Gore!

Science teacher Sally Murphy's Anatomy classes studied the wound healing process by creating realistic wounds using simple household ingredients.

This creative assignment positioned the students as special effects professionals hired for a new monster movie. Students created a realistic wound, including a backstory regarding how the wound was created and then describing the wound healing process. After preparing the wound, students detailed how the injury occurred and explained the wound healing process required for the scenario. The lab—a creative hands-on approach to studying the Integumentary System—was a hit with students who enjoyed entertaining Ms. Murphy with their highly creative backstories!
