Curling Field Trip
In a culmination of the semester’s studies, students in Adna Muliawan's physics class ventured outside the classroom for an exciting and educational field trip focused on the sport of curling. This hands-on excursion gave students a practical application of physics principles, turning theoretical concepts into tangible experiences. On the ice, students observed and analyzed firsthand the effects of friction on the curling stones, gaining a deeper understanding of this fundamental physics concept. The trip also offered insights into kinematics and dynamics, demonstrating how these forces influence motion and control in the real world. As one student reflected, "Seeing physics in action, especially in a sport like curling where every move counts, really helped make the theories we learned click."
